Bonnie (she/her) holds a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis on Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas State University. Bonnie is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counseling at the University of North Texas. She holds a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Associate license in the state of Texas, under the supervision of Eva Escobedo, LPC-S.

Bonnie is informed by a relational-cultural approach, a therapeutic practice based on increasing relational connection and founded in social change. This perspective looks at the impacts of context (culture, power, privilege, and marginalization) on personal mental health. Her work focuses on cultivating quality relationships that act as avenues to holistic health. Her goal is to help clients detach from barriers to self-discovery, freeing up space to engage in more and better-quality relationships with themselves and others.

Bonnie works with individuals across the lifespan from a trauma-informed perspective. She has experience working with individual adults, adolescents, groups, families, and couples. She is passionate about uplifting marginalized voices, evident in her research on sex work and the mental health effects of climate change. Bonnie is prepared to work with folks with variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma and PTSD, and more. Bonnie welcomes clients identifying across a variety of communities, including LGBTQIA+, poly/alternative relationship structures, intimate labor/sex work, kinky, and more.

Bonnie is an avid runner in constant search for new nature trails. Running serves as Bonnie’s recovery from post-corporate life and hustle culture. Her recharge time also includes daily soul-healing snuggle breaks with her Chihuahua-mix.
